Loose Nissan Micra (K11) battery terminal connector

Hi, I have a loose connection to the negative (i believe) terminal on a battery I just replaced at the weekend on my '96 Nissan Micra (K11 edition). The round connector that sits onto the negative (left as you look from the front) lead terminal of the battery has two rings (large on the top, small on the bottom) and the bottom one is cracked making it loose. Both rings are worn down on the inside (I had sanded and sprayed the oxidation off the inside of the rings at the weekend). Its so loose that it comes off after use and every time I go to start the car I have to open the bonnet and sit the connector/rings onto the battery terminal. (the nut that tightens the connector is tightened fully so it defintely needs replacing).

I'm looking to source the part and replace it myself if possible/safe. I'm a complete noob to car DIY but I want to get my hands dirty, preferrably without getting shocked.

Does anybody here know where to source a replacement connector (I'm sure there's a more accurate name for it) at decent price and know how to go about replacing it safely? If it comes to it I'll pay to get it done at my local indy but would prefer to do it myself if possible.
    Thanks.
p.s. buying the micra k11 haynes manual on ebay as I type

Its possible to get a universal negative battery terminal in a motorfactors and fit it to the negative lead. some times getting a good connection from the lead to the new terminal can be difficult but there are also a range of universal negative leads available in various lengths and this might be more satisfactory. You could of course also go to the main dealer and buy the lead and terminal as a pre assembled piece.
