Cydia Themes for iPhone 4

    Ok, so now a lot of us have the iPhone 4 and some of us have jailbroken them. Some for specific reasons, like unlocking but for me it was just to personalise it. I have gone through Cydia in the hopes of getting my iPhone back to how it looked on my 3G but unfortunately a lot of themes don't work for the iPhone 4.

    Happily, 5 icon dock and 5 column springboard are working away seamlessly. I also have no undocked icon labels but my docked icons keep there labels.

    I tried a tap to unlock I used to use but alas it doesn't work.

    Some sms packages don't work either and other themes although work great the icons just look crappy on the retina display.

    So on this thread I'm hoping people can share their cydia tweaks and themes the have used on the iPhone 4. Screenshots and/or instructions/repos would be most helpful too.

    At the moment this is me, I wanted Glassklart but the HD version only has icons for the preinstalled apps and not 3rd party, hopefully this will be updated soon enough.

    I've re entry started jail breaking, been messing about on cydia getting various themes and that, but some haven't worked, I've got the vista dock, which is pretty cool apart from the fact that the icons are still there in a shade, i've used winter board to dim them, and remove the twigs, thankfully the tags have removed, but the icons haven't dimmed.

    Ive used the electric blue video wallpaper, pretty damn cool but it is killing the battery.

    I'll post a screen shot as soon as I get my main pc working so I can paste my pictures in a online folder.

    Some apps work, some don't, I believe the tap to unlock one is giving some others trouble also, I cant get it to work at all.

    Looking to change it to Dublin.

    Cheers.

    You need lockScreen clock hide script from cydia also. To hide the overlay

    Thanks, I figured it out in the mean time. It's sweet.

    Wonder if there's anyway to make it 24 hour format.

    you need to use openssh or iphone browser.

    browse to the private folder of the widget and edit the configureme.js file to your city ie. dublin,ireland

    Coming along a little now. Still can't find an icon theme I like. I quite liked glass orb colour but there are squares around the dock icons which are annoying. Would like something that shows off the background though.

    iElegance is really nice but won't really show off a background very well.

    Hopefully the HD themes start rolling out quick and fast.

    use ifile, save you tethering to computer, you can edit it from the phone itself also

    dont forget when inside the configure.me file, under where you edit your location, edit Celsius to true, unless you like your temp output in Fahrenheit !

    see my link above for example

    You need to install Lockscreen Clock Hide from Cydia too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,178 ✭✭✭✭NothingMan

    So instead of waiting for Glasklart to get every icon redone in HD I decided to go with the basics. Obviously I wish I could have all my icons Glassed but with a bit of a reshuffle I quite like it. It will do for now anyway.

    Background is not part of the theme btw just a pic I had from my Laptop desktop background.

    I had no problems at all. Was one of the first things I installed after Jailbreak and it worked perfectly. Do you have any other springboard tweaks that could be interfering?

    no, only sbssettings and a few custom scripts, i need to a reinstall to test something else, ill do clean jailbreak after that, and ill install 5 column before anything else, hopefully that might sort it ! :cool:

    Here's mine:
    photo_1.png

    The background comes from here.The icons are from a Cydia theme called Suave.

    photo_2.png

    I used another theme called Matte Graphite to change the Dialer and Navigation bars.

    lads i'm trying to get the weather widget working, i've edited the js file to:

    var iconExtWall = '.png'
    var iconExtLock = '.png'
    var locale = 'cork, ireland'
    var iconSetWall = 'HTC1'
    var iconSetLock = 'HTC1'
    var enableWallpaper = true
    var EnableWeather = true
    var WeatherSource = "Yahoo"
    var WeatherLocale = "560472"
    var isCelsius = false
    var useRealFeel = false
    var enableLockScreen = true
    var source = 'Yahoo'
    var stylesheetWall = 'twoLine'
    var stylesheetLock = 'Under_StatusBar'
    var updateInterval = 30

    and it doesn't work, any help gladly accepted?

    I assume that's the only part you've changed. iPwnage said he needed to remove the space so try cork,ireland and see. I didn't need the space btw.

    Edit: Nevermind :D

    Aha, you also need to download the lockscreen clock hide from Cydia too. Otherwise that over rides it.

    are you saving the edited file, then press the power button once or twice, give it a second to come up, ive noticed its slower to come up on ip4 then 3gs, like 3 seconds

    I've always had the impression that rock and cydia don't mix well - maybe that was just with blackra1n :)

    Might get rock tomorrow then :) can't now since battery is about to go :(

    Is rock good yeah ? Haven't bothered with it since I'm trying to download the least amount of 3rd party apps that I can on my iPhone 4 just incase - always jailbroke my 2G etc but want to keep my 4 going well :)

    In my opinion, Rock is a little more professional. They treat there app store more like an actual app store, Its very nice looking and the creator is one of the guys who actually went before congress to get jail-breaking legal in the us.

    So he gets my vote, As for the compatibly between cydia and rock. I haven't had any issues, In fact i have upgraded apps with rock that were installed via cydia and visa versa.
