    hi i am training a springer hes able to sit and stay and fetch on command but when i bring him to the field to shoot pigeons, he will sit stay and fetch but when he sees the birds that i am shooting at he breaks and runs out . So any tips on how to keep steady at the line? until i sent him. cheers:)

    stop bring him pigeon shooting , you dog is not ready for the field .

    you may go back to training ,sit stay on dummy training .use a dummy with pigeon wings on it .

    dont let your dog retrieve every dummy 5-10 is enough .he has the idea every bird is his ,you will have a job to change this

    It means exactly what the man said throw the dummy but don't let the dog retrieve it.

    Steadiness training get five or six dummies and sit the dog in the garden and throw the dummies over its head walk around the dog in a circle picking up the dummies and throwing them again, if the dog moves correct him immediately.
