Bantry or Glengarrif in Cork. Nice enough towns, but you only stay in them to do the Béara Pinnensula ring. Find Healy's Pass on the Ring of Béara, and you will get some amazing (and I mean Amazing) scenery.

If you stay in Bantry, ask for directions to Willie Pa's. It's about 5km out of the town, but it worth it for the food. Reasonable prices, but the food is excellent and huge portions.

I would also recommend Clonakilty. Great pubs, great food. Any pub in Clon will have something going on most nights during the summer, but head for An Súgan for dinner somenight and try their Clonakility Pudding starter. Yum.

Finally, being a Kerryman, I have to suggest Kenmare. Fantastic little town. The Square Pint is your spot for nightlife, or any of the other pubs in town are good for a quite pint.
