Croke Park Attendances

The Upper tiers were all closed off today for the KK Cork game and ticket prices were €45? I cannot find attendance records for Croke Park online (not on the website) but I am nearly sure I remember hurling semi finals in years gone by whereby the stadium was at three quarter capacity or more. This fall in attendances is then as a result of KK's dominance and the fact that their fans are noted to not travel in large numbers to Croker except for finals or that people are being priced out of Croke Park tickets. So in this case, why not open up either the upper Cusack or Hogan (not even both) stand and set prices there at say €20.

I mean surely there is another 20,000 or 30,000 people who would loved to have been at the mtahc today but were simply priced out if it. Shouldn't the GAA be encourgaing fans into Croke Park, not the opposite. There was a noticeable lack of atmosphere today due to the complete emptiness of the upper tiers. It's sad to see for such a brilliant game like hurling.

Please tell me if I'm completely wrong and have missed vital points here. Thanks.
