OK, we have the Parnell Summer School starting today, opened by Tim Pat :

There is a section on New Media.

Previously we've had McGill, Merriman, Humbert.

Are attendees allowed to tweet from these events? The McGill one didn't do live streaming due to fears about impact on revenue. I don't buy this 'McGill is Oxegen for old people' so they wouldn't know how to do it stuff.

Anyone any record of hashtags for these events or is there some Chatham House Rules in operation? It all seems more of the same RTE-politico axis across these events....

Event is covered in today's irish times:

JOURNALISTS OUGHT to be extremely wary of being part of a cosy consensus with politicians and should not be friends with TDs and Senators, the Parnell Summer School in Co Wicklow heard last night.
Addressing a panel discussion entitled “Reporting Irish Politics – a cosy consensus or a challenging voice?” barrister, former journalist and now Senator Alex White said relations between politicians and the media “should always be fraught; there is something wrong if it is not fraught”.

#parnell is being used I bit I see on Twitter.
