Why would any batsman go to hit a dead ball.........that's just cruel!!!!

Please check the dead ball video 100 or 1000 times..umpire was standing on his ground and ball was not called dead until asif delivered the ball and KP hit it. He should have been given out for playing a ball..plain and simple!

The replay I saw clearly showed the umpire begin to signal dead ball before the bowler was into his delivery stride...

Either way hes a bloody idiot; on another day he might not have been so lucky.

Edit: actually, I take it back; watched the video again and the umpire didnt signal until after he had hit it (dont know what I saw the first time...). Should have been given out.

The umpire I think said no dead ball before he made a signal.
Plastic lion was a dipstick for hitting the ball.
