Selling phone on eBay - How to stop Nigerians?

I am selling my phone on ebay, reasonably priced but with a high buy it now price, probably too high for what it is.

I have listed it twice and on both occasions it has been bought by one of those fake Paypal email scam Nigerians. On the second occasion I even specified you must have feedback and that I won't post to Nigeria. It is getting annoying as I continually have to relist it and need to sell it soon.

Any ideas on how to stop this?

Isnt there an option when listing to block all 0 feedback and also nigerian bidders?

There could be, I'll have a look when relisting it now, might take out the buy it now option also, this seems to be what they go for

Well i know for certain you can opt to block all 0 and/or low feedback bidders (which the scammers are most times) and I am pretty sure I saw a "block bidders from a region" option last time I was listing.

You can't unfortunately. Wish you could. You can block bidders with -1 and lower.

When was that? Maybe they changed it a while back.

Not sure what you can do OP.

Maybe this was only in ebay motors? I definetly had the option to block all 0 feedback bidders.

Blocking people with 0 feedback limits your chances of selling. I am on 0 and im really looking to buy a phone for my first purchase and I know theres many more out there like me

I have seen in the description of items NO NIGERIAN BIDDERS/WILL NOT SHIP TO NIGERIA in big bold red writing, give that a try

Could have been. I don't understand why you can select which countries you can post to but can't block specific countries.

Blocking people with 0 feedback limits your chances of selling.

Sellers can't block buyers with 0 feedback only -1 and lower. Maybe years a go but not now.

IN the case of ebay, it has been statistically proven that to be the case.

In this case, the OP's phone was bought by a Nigerian, so that's what he's interested in stopping. Also what Max Power1 said.

Maybe I am daft, but not daft enough to fall for their dirty Nigerian scams.

In this case I listed my phone twice (costing money which wasn't refunded) and on both occasions Nigerian scammers sent me fake Paypal e-mails

I've had the same problem selling a phone.

I filtered out Nigeria as a country I won't ship to, I removed buyers with no feedback score and I sold the phone to the highest bidder, an Irish bloke... The Irish bloke then tells me he got one cheaper so he doesnt want it anymore  Hate ebay

You can get a credit on those.

Tried listing again only offering postage to Irl, UK and US, and specifically stated in the ad that I would not sell to 0 feedback or ship to Africa.

Some American user bought it then e-mailed me saying 'THE PAYMNET HAVE BEEN MADE' asking me to post it to Lagos. That place must be some sh1thole, might give up on ebay now

Great story, but very silly of him to put pictures of his family on the page detailing the scam. Some of these scammers are very well connected. All over 419eater you will see warnings about hiding your true identity from them, never letting them know anything personal.

Jeff, the p-p-p-powerbook anti-scammer guy that orchestrated something very similar to this a number of years ago disappeared, maybe by choice, but some people were very worried for him.

Whoa that p-p-p-powerbook story is great! although a bit chilling to read he was never heard from again.

CantGetNoSleep - sorry to hear your having so much trouble with your listing. Just report them to eBay is all I can say :(
