Would you read magazines on an iPad?

If somebody made an application that allowed you to download, store and read magazines on an iPad (or other tablet) would you use it? Would you expect them to cost more/less/same price? Should they be enhanced with video, etc.?

I wish Apple would have had a go at making something like this rather than, or in addition to iBooks!

There are plenty of mags available already. Check out the App store.

Time Magazine, Wired, Flipboard, Discover for Wikipedia is good

I meant more of an all-encompassing app rather than what Wired, Time and Popular Science have done. There is Zinio but I've read that it can be a bit slow and temperamental. I think it would be nice to have something that would allow you to browse and buy all magazines, manage subscriptions, etc. all in one app. Also nice smooth page turning interactions and a personal inventory like iBooks.

    I'm probably asking too much!

Zinio allows you to download magazines and I'm very pleased with its performance.

I dont have an iPad, but I'd like iBook versions of current paper based subscriptions that I have. Would probably subscribe to more magazines, the problem at the moment is that I never have a magazine when I have the time to read something.

Most of the individual apps and Zinio also seem to charge more than the physical magazine costs for one issue. Rolling Stone on Zinio is $4.99 compared to $4.50 for the printed issue in the US.

Surely without the printing and distribution costs they should be a lot cheaper?

    Wow, that's steep.

I've a lot of tech subs that I download to idisk, it's then possible to save them to the ibook shelf, works nicely

Rolling stone on zinio is $20 for a year, I bought it and love it :) Reading mags on iPad suits me just fine! Pretty easy, annoying in the sun though.

Aye I use Zinio, its very good imo, and there are constant yearly offers that are 33% or less of the physical sub.
