    meet ROJ.

this 1600E came to me from a friend for a song. The alternative was the crusher so he is safe now. When received he consisted of a bodyshell with no running gear at all, no interior either. Ive spent the past two months or so sourcing bits and fitting them. Its not a restoration at this stage as such, more a reassembly. This is the result.this morning the last bit needed to create a rolling shell went in, wheels fitted and he was rolled out for the first time in 4 years. It didnt all go smoothly as (as I suspected) the diff is knackered but a replacement is due during the week and there is plenty to be getting on with anyway!

The shell looks fairly solid? No rust?

Its always nice to save a classic from the crusher too, fair play.

almost no rust although it has had welding done in the past. Not pretty but prety solid would be a fair description.

the car was fitted with a hi-tech alrm (including a tracker!) and the door handles were dispensed with i reckon to avoid having to wire up the rear doors.....no doubt special unbreakable glass was fitted as well:rolleyes:
