hey anyone tell me if this sounds right, went to view a small 2 bed hous and i mean small but lovely really wanted to keep it met the landlord later and he had everything written out for us, over the phone he told us it was 180 euro weekly making it 90euro each a week therefore 360euro a month?? no?? thats what we thought
we would be renting from the 1st of september until 31st of may and he had that clearly written out too, so then he had written 180 mulitplied by 52 weeks and tha was then divided by 12months leaving it a total of 780euro a month between us making it 390euro a month each, does that make sense to you guys out there??? he also wanted 800euro deposit and when we asked him shoiuld it not be 780euro he started talking about how there is 28days in 4weeks and some months have more than 4 weeks basically trying to confuse us any advice welcome please

Walk away. If the landlord isn't straightforward now he'll get worse as time goes by.
There are lots of houses out there and it's a renters market. A friend of mine got a lovely 2 bed in Wellpark for 630 euro.
    Keep looking.

About the deposit, that doesn't really matter as long as it's in writing.
You being students I guess a higher security deposit is warranted (higher risk of mess and things breaking than a small family).

thanks i kind of wanted to publish this just to ward off students to be honest ya we are two 3rd year girls who are relaly quiet like and i just thought it was ridiculous how he attempted to explain it to us after questioning hm

    €180pw x 52 weeks = €9360
    €780pm x 12 months = €9360

    It's the same amount though.
Expensive enough place, keep looking and don't be afraid to haggle with any landlord. You're the customer

but when you are told 180 a week, that should be 90euro each a week no therefore 360euro a month like that is what we have paid before and we would only be there 9months or ten ya it has to be in city
