Can anyone recommend a bodyshop in North Dublin, its for a big enough job (damn red car!).

Looking for a reasonable job that won't cost the earth.

    Cheers folks.

If you want a good job done, something that you won't regret down the line, don't go cheap!

Hey Ferris I have to ask.... is this for a job on your friend ( Cameron) dads car by any chance?

I know what you mean, I do want a good job done but I want it done reasonably. The car I have isn't worth very much but I like it and structurly its very sound which is unusual for the type. Problem is that the laquer has started to peel on both back wings and as the car is red any new paint is going to be a different colour to the existing pantwork. Also there are signs of corrosion under the paint on one of the wings.

The car is worth maybe 3.5k, i'm not going to spend a fortune respraying half the car but I want to get it looking decent.

You can still get a very good job done cheaply, and the opposite holds true too. One of the guys on our site got a mini resprayed for €1k and he's happy with it. http://www.bmw-driver.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18397&page=2

I paid over double that for a job and wasn't happy at all.

I could personally recommend Carcraft in Ballybough - Ace Autobody in Finglas are supposed to be excellent too. Just try and get a look at previous work they've done.

Is it an Alfa by any chance? The reason I ask is because the red paint suffered badly with regard to peeling and corrosion. That's why they have stopped using red.

No its a nissan, I had a red BMW before and the same happened. I should really have learned :P

Half the red cars you see over 6/7 years old are faded. Mechanic friend of mine has a spotless RS Turbo in for a job at the moment and you would want to see the shade of it now!

Not a mark on it but the paint work is pink, although it is 20 years old!

Realistically OP it's gonna cost you cq €2k for a good job, more if you want it 100%. Worth it on a €3.5k car?

The know the guy who runs Carcraft actually, had a look at their site there and they seem reasonable. Ace have an excellent rep. but are expensive. I will defo give them a shout tho, thanks.
