I'm getting the iPhone 4 and I want to sell my current iPhone 3G 8GB. It's in perfect condition no scratches etc. How much do you think its worth? Is it worth me unlocking or jailbreaking it before I sell it. I'm sure people would prefer to buy an unlocked iphone but I don't want to risk something going wrong, a friend of mine totally messed his up - I don;t want to do the same...
    What do you reckon?

if it's a 3G you must have had it long enough to have the network unlock it.
There's a thread in the forum on what people sold their old iPhones for. Have a look at adverts.ie

I have a 16GB unlocked by O2 and reckon it's worth about €200 but will probably pass it on to family.

IMO people would rarther a factory unlocked or else network restricted as opposed to a jailbroke version, that way they can jailbreak themselves and set it up to their own preferences. thats only my opinion though, i personally would rarther factory unlocked.

contact the network as im sure your entitled to a free unlock by now through iTunes.
