Handbag repair

I've two really nice handbags that have broken. One was my grannys so it's pretty old, and the material part that hold the strap in is broken.
On the other bag the zip has broken, but id say it would be really hard to sew a new one on.

Does anyone know what type of shop I should go to for this?! An alterations shop or a bag shop or something else?

If anybody knows any specific shops in Dublin that'd be great!

I'd check with a cobbler's/shoe repair type place. I know there is a place in Kilkenny that's really great at fixing broken bags, often had them do work like this. There surely is somewhere similar in Dublin. Other than that, I'd say a clothes alteration place would be your next bet.

You could always try a tack repair shop. I know that may sound odd, but they are used to dealing with replacing zips, buckles, straps, etc. for bridles and saddles, many of which can be quite small and fiddly and need to be replaced to a high (and safe) standard, especially the former, and they understand the need for the repair to be neat and as unnoticeable as possible.
