So I had the misfortune to get duped into listening to this shambolic podcast http://www.rte.ie/podcasts/2010/pc/pod-v-29071020m44slivelinefairview.mp3

Yes, yes I know. Joe Duffy. I should know better.

Anyway the first guy up Syl Fox combines telling the worst jokes on the planet with laughing at his own jokes.

Anyone else who just can't stand people who laugh at their own jokes?

I cant stand Syl Fox, but I don't lump him together with every other person in the world who laughs at their own jokes.

Is it there own made up jokes? If it's a retelling of a joke I've often laughed at the joke I was retelling!

There's always a Billy Bragg text to suit:

She ran away from home with her mother's best coat
She was married before she was even entitled to vote
And her husband was one of those blokes
The sort that only laughs at his own jokes
The sort that war takes away
And when there wasn't a war he left her anyway

Sometimes I laugh so much when I'm telling a joke the end is often unintelligable

I usually laugh when I am retelling a joke because I remember how funny it was when I heard it.

To be fair, doesn't quality of life generally turn to sh1te when people start marrying each other and having babies.

At least in real life, we don't have to put up with the endlessly repetitive OTT canned laughter that made watching Friends impossible for the last few seasons.

Tommy Tiernan does it all time time, and so does Micheal MacIntyre. Annoying.

But sure don't most good comedians kinda laugh at their own jokes?

Billy Connolly, Peter Kay, Roy Chubby Brown* always giggle at their own jokes on stage?

So do a lot of bad comedians. My friend's a budding stand-up comedian and I'm the guinea pig for all his sh*t jokes. When I don't laugh at them, he resorts to explaining the joke to me, while laughing. Again, silence.

I try to avoid him now.

I used to live with a comedian who was just like that, one of the most depressing people I've ever met

How many alzheimers patients does it take to change a lightbulb?

To get to the other side.

Prime suspect here- Michael Mcinfúckingtyre. How does that floppy haired, childishly grinning, overexcited sham sell out arenas? He's as funny as clinical depression.

I nearly always laugh at my own jokes.
Always found myself hilarious, I don't give really a shit if other people don't.

    My mom says I'm cool.

To be fair to the OP, listening to Syl Fox would make you want to forceably remove your ears with a Kanga hammer just to make the extremely irritating noise go away.

Jesus, there is no excuse for him. None. Whatsoever. None.

I'd hate Andrews even if he didn't laugh at his own shítty jokes.

Ever hear that eejit on Joe Duffys Not-Funny Friday? He laughs at all his not funny jokes, and he's the only one laughing at them. I cringe when i hear that show, yet cant turn it off, just to see how crap it is.
