First I want to say you are not allowed fill these with BB's. They will come out of the grenade at well over a joule. And I would ask you to change your video so as to not encourage others to do this.

BB's come out at well over a joule of power, so be wary of putting 'em in

Ok I take it you have measured this dreadlock...I mean chronod tthe bb's leaving a thunder b.
They come out way less than 1 joule, and to top that I added the disclaimer that you MUST ASK YOUR SITE! or did you miss that. These videos are going international, to countries that have much higher joule ratings than ours.
Filling thunder b's is no more dangerous than any pyro device, claymore or aeg so before you get all uptight and pedantic I would urge you to rewatch the vid and take note that I mention that if you want to fill your thunder b with bb's you MUST ASK YOUR SITE OPERATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO IN SHORT I WILL NOT BE CHANGING MY VIDEO

@Oddy: Your video is a good solid review, but the part including about filling with BBs, although clearly (and it is clearly) mentioned that you must clear it with your site operator, will quite probably encourage people to try it. I even remember discussion here about putting frozen peas in. Perhaps a compromise between yours & Dreads stand-points and add in an anotation - "For Irish Sites, and other <1j countries remember that..." blah blah

I'm not sure of the legalities of filling the Thunder B, as technically it doesn't have a barrel, so may not be subject to the 1j rule. However, I just remember a post in the Thunder B discussion thread mentioning that because they come out at a higher power, that it is illegal to do so.

who has actually tested the fps???? did they post a vid here?? i say this because a while back a few of us tested this the "poor man" way, started by getting an aeg that chronos at 325fps,fired at a very thin cardboard boxand the bb's went straight through, then got about 5 thunder b's,filled them all to dirrerent levels with bb's and set each one off it the box one at a time, the result was that not a single bb pierced the box

surely if the fps was so high as the bb's left the thunder b it would have pierced the very thin card board box??

That's the problem with arm chair critics. Until someone can show me categorically that thunder b's blow out bbs over 1 joule then I will rely on the info of test done that show me that the leave the thunder b's well under 1 joule. To take the argument to its natural conclusion...if the thunder b DID expel the bbs at over a joule then surely they would travel farther than the 5-10yrd 'kill' zone that happens at present!!!!!

Here's the link to the post talking about it being over the limit

Realistically I don't know if they do, or if they do not fire at over a joule. I just remembered reading about it, and decided to post it up as A) Devils Advocate and B) to recommend erring on the side of caution.
