    Hi All

I bought a epiphone les paul jr a while back and have decided to turn it into a project, the first change I made was install a Gison P94 soapbar that retro fits into the humbucker housing and it sounds amazing.

Part 2 is to change the machine heads the Grover rotogrip option looks best would like to read other opinion

Part 3 is to route a new pickup into the neck position and was thinking of getting a charlie christian style pickup here. Any opinions here would be great but was thinking of fitting one from www.lollarguitars.com

Part 4 is optional but possibly change out the stop piece for a bigsby tremolo.

Any advice on any of the above would be great

Next step should be to change the pots to 500k vol & 250 tone cts caps http://www.axesrus.com/axeElectronicsPots.htm#CTS

& caps to sprague film & foil caps OR similar ,theyre warmer than the orange drops!

THos place is great for bits & pieces & only £4 shipping

The whole thing with a les paul junior is the fact there is no neck route so the sound is intensified through the whole guitar!
The same as a long neck tenon so to speak

This should improve the sound of your p94 & with the proper volume & tone pots you shouldnt need a neck pickup

Whatever you do have fun & good luck with it!

I had actually changed out the pots for Di Marzio (500ohm volume and 250ohm tone) and I'm fairly pleased with them but will take on your suggestion for the Capacitor. I can't believe you can improve on the tone of the P94, the more I play it the better it gets.

Changed out the capacitor using a sprague film and foil, a certain noticeable improvement in tone and the pot seems to have a wider range in tone too.

Grover rotogrips are in the post and that will be next, beginning to wonder will I bother with a neck pickup.
