    Is readybrek/hotoats a good subsittute for porridge/oatmeal for breakfast??

    If I recall as a child, Ready Brek had a lot of sugar in it so I wouldn't recommend eating too much! If you are bored with the taste of porridge try mixing in some honey in to it.

    You might remember adding loads of sugar, or whoever made it might have added it.

    It is easy to find info on these products online

    Wholegrain Rolled Oats (60%), Wholegrain Oat Flour (39%), Calcium, Niacin, Iron, Pantothenic Acid (B5), Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12.

    So has no added sugar or salt at all. You can see it is really just overpriced porridge oats though. If you got regular oats and put them in a blender for a short while it would probably have the same consistency as that oat & oat flour mixture.

    If you stick normal oats in a blender for a good while it turns to a flour and you can make pancakes with it -so you get protein from the egg and I prefer pancakes.

    Its strange the way they market muck like branflakes & special K & cheerios as healthy when the relatively healthier stuff like weetabix & readybrek do not really do the same.

    just tried protein pancakes, 4egss whole and 2 scoops protein, bannana, wernt bad wouldnt have them everyday but maybe twice a week!!
