    Hi,

    I'm a B class licence holder.
I'm going to do the rigid test, and then the aric test and hopefully then the Coach test also.
I've done the theroy test, passed, and did the medical, passed. Sorted CPC-wise.
Now I need to get the learner permit.

    Few questions please -

Do I have to surrender my existing licence?
What category of licence should I apply for, C or C1 bearin in mind i want to go on to do the EC test?
Anything else I need to do?

    Thanks,

    M.:pac:

What do you mean by "sorted"? If you haven't got a Learner Permit, you can't have done the CPC, so I assume you mean you have an exemption, e.g. you don't plan to drive commercially.
If you do expect to drive professionally in the next few years, bare in mind that you'll have to do the two CPC theory tests, the driving test and the practical even though you'll already have done a driving test. That adds up to €282 (€172 not including the test you are doing) whereas the periodic training is only €50 or €60 a year.
