OK, i was waiting to see this....and it was what i expected in many respects but worse in some cases. Steven Antins script and dialogue is terrible, it's like he copied every other movie of this genre and wrote it for the tween girl crowd, it's very juvinle.

The production design/Burlesque club is pretty nice but nothing totally new our unique, again it's like he borrowed bits from other movies (Chicago etc.). The acting all round is pretty crap save for Stanley Tucci. Xtina...it's like she watched every Duane Adler movie or Coyote Ugly to get her acting cues.

My biggest issue with Ali (Xtina) is...she's a total bitch!, a loadmouth, telling her boss who's she's known for five mins to shut up and listen to her, wtf?

The musical numbers and dancing is pretty good, it's the main core of the movie...it's essentially a muical with tagged on scenes and a dash of plot, if you can it that. Antin uses lots of takes/angles in his quick fire editing with the standard tracking shots, nothing unique or original.

In fact everything about the movie has been done before and unoriginal, entertainment value?...depends what you want from the movie, good music with dancing?...yeah sure, romance?...hell no!, laughable cliched duo that is Xtina and Cam Gigadent.

The only scene that put a smile on my face and was a bit cutsey was when Cam wore his jammies, then shirtless, then butt nekid....pretty blatant excuse for the core audience it's aimed at to see Mr. Gigadent's bare butt and body, but it was a funny scene that probably displayed the best chemistry between the two.

But overall this is a very bland movie, there are many more of this genre that are superior.

    2/5

Saw half an hour of this awhile back in a friends, it's not something I have any desire to watch in full but it's a long way from the worst film ever made. It's competently made, the acting is acceptable and visually it was quite pleasing. It won't redefine cinema nor would I ever watch it in full but if it's the worst film you ever saw then you obviously haven't seen all that many films.

For some reason I doubt you've seen as many films as I have considering that it's the industry in which I hope to work and have been working in over the past years. Also its Obvious that if this is the worst film you ever seen then I have seen far more films than you. It's quite easy to form an opinion of a film based on 30 minutes viewing, Burlesque is not for me but I can recognize that it is a competently made film with decent acting, good visuals and a great sound mix. There are hundreds of films which don't even have one of these and as such calling Burlesque the worst film ever made is ridicolous. It may be the worst film you've seen and it'll never be compared to The Godfather or Treasure of the Sierra Madre but it's not the worst example of cinema around.
