Test cancelled

I was supposed to have my test today in Tallaght but I got a phone call yesterday evening saying it's cancelled because the tester is sick. This is so annoying at such short notice! I had the day booked off work and I had a pre-test booked in with my ADI and I was all mentally and emotionally prepared for it. I ended up getting a bit upset on the phone when the woman called to say it was cancelled so she managed to get me booked in for next Friday. I know it's not long to wait but it's frustrating having being so prepared for today and now having to go through it all again next week.

I was lucky too that my boss let me cancel my holiday day and come into work and that my ADI isn't charging me for the late cancellation. Still though...

Sorry for the pointless post, I just wanted to vent really, I'm sure someone else on here had had the same thing happen to them.

Jesus, I thought mine was short notice! That's ridiculous though - an hour's notice? There really should be stand-in testers or something for when it's that short notice. If you kick up a fuss you might get a new date soon.

There probably was provision for sick cover before the cutbacks.

Very annoying, especially as you've built yourself up for it...is your test Fri 6th or Friday 13th??:D

Friday 13th! I know, it's not very lucky, is it?! At least if I don't pass I can blame it on the date! ;)

I've been in the waiting room when an examiner will come out to a student to say that the schedualled examiner is out sick.
    P.S. Well done Cosmic.

It's obviously annoying and upsetting when a test is cancelled but let's be honest here, if an examiner could give 10 days notice of illness it would be great. It's the very same for a persons employer if they call in sick.

Look on the brightside....more time to prepare.

    Well in Cosmic ;)
