Taking a lesson in the US

As I will be in the US for a little while at the end of the summer, I was considering taking a flying lesson there. I have noticed though some Google searching that forenigers wishing to do flight training in the US must first get TSA approval. https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov/afsp2/?acct_type=c&section=LI
It keeps mentioning training to acquire different certs and type ratings, but does anyone know if I'll need to apply, even though I'm only planning on taking one lesson.

If so, I doubt I'll bother as the application costs $130

Experience wise, for PPL training I currently have around 14 hours and will soon applying for an SPL.

as far as i know you also require a visa(M1) to undertake any flying instruction towards a PPL, CPL or IR and use an approved school. Hardly worth it unless you did a good few hours unfortunately...

AFAIK for any flight training in US you now need a VISA and authorities like Immigration/FBI etc need to know about where and when.

I am not allowed discuss …

I see. Sounds like far too much hassle and expense just for one lesson. I think I'll scrap that plan and just wait until I have my PPL to do any flying over there. Thanks for the help.
