    Hi i bought a ford mondeo recently and there was no cigarette lighter in it or anything to plug the cigarette lighter into.
    I was wondering where could i buy one of these?
    And what is it called?
    I want to be able to plug my iPod into it

    Its a 2001 mondeo

    That's a strange 1?!? Most car accessory shops should have a complete cigarette lighter in stock. If you don't smoke you can get the socket on it's own & wire it in. These even come with twin & triple sockets for multiple use i.e. iPod & charge phone together. If you are connecting it directly to the cars wiring be sure whoever is doing it is confident at doing so cos it could all go up in smoke... :(

    The lighter is under a panel between the gear stick and the arm rest. Press down on it and it opens up to reveal the lighter and some space for a phone/ipod.

    Brilliant, I didn't think they sold it in main shops or if i would have to order it.
    @Squaod the previous owner removed the whole socket for the cigarette lighter im not quite sure why
    I only need it to power my iPod and phone

    exactly..its near arm rest.. have look ..must be there..know mondeos! ;) ..if previous owner removed it from there u can get a used one from any scrapyard.
