Renewing Car Tax for Car bought privately

    hi every1, any help any1 can offer on this would be much appreciated.

    Im recently after buying a car privately and just received my new reg cert with me now the offical owner of car.

    The tax is just up on car now and i cant renew online as i dont have a PIN so im not sure where to start otherwise.

    Could any1 offer any advice how to tax a car thats being bought privately.

    I think you have to go down to the motor tax office with the NCT and insurance discs for the car. From then on whenever you re-new, you'll get sent the letter with the online pin number.

    You need to go into your local motor tax office to tax the car because the system wasn't updated in time to send you out a reminder. You will need to bring the VRC and your insurance cert with you.
