Can I get a mate to upgrade for me?

    Anyone know if I can get a mate to go into an O2 store and buy an iPhone 4 on my behalf?

    I'll be wanting them to upgrade from my current plan.

    Will O2 allow this? If so, what documentation do I need to give my mate?

    I asked about this on the O2 forums for myself a couple of weeks ago, and was told that it wasn't possible as you'll be signing for new hardware, which means you actually need to sign for it personally.
    You could try your luck though. However the least you'll need to do is have the person who you want to upgrade for you down on your account (as a named person (or sumfink or other)).

    Short answer: No. Do it online or get them to do it online
