    Hi i joined the public jobs website today and i want to join the Guards does anyone know how much you get paid while training and is the training hard.

    I believe you get as much as you get on jobseekers. I could be wrong though. So 200ish euro a week.

    Also, yes I would imagine the training is hard but if your not up for it there are plenty more who are. It's 2 years well worth the hard work I would imagine!

    Pay scales for Gardai, and student gardai while in training are here. You get some allowances, and other fees are taken out etc but you'll get an idea anyway.

    As for how 'hard' the training is, to me it is unclear what you mean by this. Do you mean physically tough, or academically difficult or mentally challenging or something else?
    I can't imagine it will be a walk in the park. They are training you for arguably one of the most challenging professions in the country. But either way if you really do want to join won't it be worth it?
