Locking PVC Door

To lock, or unlock, my front door you pull the handle up and turn the key. But we have always had to keep upward pressure on the handle in order for the key to turn. Surely we should not have to keep a pull on the handle. It has been like this since installed 3 years ago. Can I adjust this in any way?
