Just a heads up to all you folk here,

In case some of you are regular orders off iherb.com and the likes, there is a new 12.8% tax/duty on items that come in.

I am a regular orderer from iherb and never had any issue, but my recent order was billed 24 euro and it was not a significantly big order compared to others.

So thought i would just let you know, im not sure if it applies to stuff just from America or Europe.

    This is a contentious issue.

There is in MOST cases 0% vat on supplements (not vat free but zero rated).

A random pick off iherb of selenium throws up third country duty rate from USA of 0%.

Also under consignments of negligible value (€22) you should pay no VAT and no duty is payable if value is under €150.

The above relates to buying online / receiving items through the mail.

Did you get stiffed because the customs declaration form was not on the box?

There isn't usually vat on supplements although creatine is an exception. What you were charged is import duty which is always charged to shops or big importers but small orders often slip through the net.
