What make? Where did you get it?

It looks nice, but there's no way I'd sit on a 90 gram saddle of completely unknown origin.

Built my own bike at the start of the year and bought all the parts in china.Turned out very well. I put red GP 4000 tyres on it and red bar tape and red decals. Its all carbon fibre. Changed my mind on the saddle and put a red saddle on it. I only started cycling last august. done the ring of kerry in July. Realy enjoying the cycling.

"Carbonmax make your life more sexy". Can't disagree with that.

One more question: what is the diameter of the rails? This is important for seatpost compatibility.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20 046prunty

If thats the width between the two rails its four and a half cm. Outside to outside is five cm.

No, it's the diameter (thickness) of the rails themselves, measured in mm. Carbon railed saddles often have fatter rails which don't fit some seatpoost clamps.

30mm saddle rails! Christ, this saddle will devour us all!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,860 ✭✭✭TinyExplosions

well, if it's 45mm (4.5cm) between the rails, and 50mm (5cm) outside the rails, the two rails together must be 5mm, making the width of the rails 2.5mm each

    Maths is fun kids!

Tiny, you know very well that no saddle has 2.5mm rails.

I'm just doing the math, not the logic!

That link you sent earlier actually gives the rail size. 31.6mm.

Take a look at what 31.6mm looks like on a ruler. If the rest of the saddle is in proportion one would have to have an extremely wide load for it to properly fit. That it is made of carbon would no longer be very relevant.

    EDIT*

Just looked at that ebay ad. That measurement of 31.6mm is for the seat tube suitability. Not at all helpful unless a seat post comes with it. The rails do look a bit on the chunky side if you ask me.

31.6mm is the circumference of the rails.Get a measuring tape and put it around the rail and you get 31.6mm.

    Then divide it by 3.14?

Might want to chuck it on to an electronic scales as well for proof of weight rather than quote the ebay advert. Looks nice though. Was it comfortable? Did you use it when out on any long rides.

And thus, a ruler was applied to the face in lieu of the palm.

Not on the chunky side at all. I have a sella italia saddle on one bike and a mission x saddle on the other and there is no difference in any of the rails. The rails on the carbon saddle are the same.

You'll need to set up a Paypal account and then email a Paypal invoice. You'll be charged a fee for this when the payment is made. A transfer is free if done through online banking and if it's between euro accounts but there are relatively large fees involved for a transfer between accounts of differing currencies which make it not very worth while for small purchases.

No worries 046prunty. You'll need to find out the email account which mikemelbrooks uses for his paypal transactions. You'll then need to log in to your Paypal account and the instructions for sending him an invoice should be pretty straight forward. You should have a look at the fees first though to see if it's worth your while.

Hi you can just send me the email address that you use for paypal. or as lemag says request the money from me if I send the money as a gift you dont have to pay a fee, Or I can add say 10 euros to cover fees and P+P. My Email address is mikemelbrooks@blueyonder.co.uk. :D Mike
