Am going to change my driver and have been looking at a TM Burner but a mate has an R7 and swears buy it. Am undecided.
I'm too high a handicapper to contemplate getting fitted for one yet but will do in the future if needed.

    Any advice/experience greatly appreciated.

BTW - I'd be quite happy just hitting in 200yards all day ad long as it's straight. Curently using a TM R5 8.5 degree which I can hit right 75% of the time but want something more forgiving I can hit right 99% of the time

8.5 degree is pretty low so you must have a decent swing to hit this consistently. Perhaps you'd get more forgiveness with a higher lofted club if this is an issue for you.
Can't speak for the burner except I don't like the look of them but I've an R7 Superquad TP driver with 9.5 degrees and absolutely love it. I'm a bit erratic off the tee at the best of times but this club is a joy to hit. I previously had the TM Ti 2 with a forged head with 8.5 degrees and it was a fantastic club also, only reason I changed is that I got the Superquad cheap since someone updated it to the R9.

After melting a poor salesmans head for about an hour today I ended up buying a callaway pt9 draw, 10 degree with stiff shaft. Fair play to salesman he asked me lots of questions about my playing for some backround info and then took the 2 taylormade clubs I was looking at off me and told me to try the callaway. I have 2 rounds to try it out & if I don't like it I can get back what I paid for it.
Tried it out here with practice net & hit a few old balls into the field and they all went lovely & straight (& long!)
Playing tomorrow so will see how it goes.

What do you play off and how do you find the r7Tp was looking at getting just a normal one but might get the tp

Ihad the Ping G10 with a stiff shaft and swapped it for 10.5 Burner with a stiff shaft best move ever, the shaft in the Burner just does'nt seem as stiff, feel much more confident with the burner.

well i played my first round with the callaway last night, i like it a lot. I wasn't over long with it (around 220yards) but ball went exactly where i want it. Boring & straight but i hit every fairway except 2.:D

Typical murphys law - i had got a TM burner off ebay 7 weeks ago and the damm thing never arrived hence the purchase of the callaway on wednesday. I had given up all hope of seeing it and has started a claim with paypal to get my money back.
What was sitting at work for me this morning when i got it? The damm burner!! So now have 2 drivers! Gonna try it out tomorrow and make a decision on which one to keep.
