CORRECTION laptop is KC550p not K1301

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post about this, so mods please feel free to move if not...

I have a pink Advent KC550p (no jokes please, yes it is marketed as a kids laptop, but it serves perfectly well for my requirements lol, plus at the time I wanted something different to everyone else) but for some reason a few months ago it stopped allowing me to go online. I'm not sure why this is. It worked perfectly for over a year, and if I switch the wireless on it connects to the network ok but if I open up my internet browser I always get the offline notification. I have absolutely no idea why this is. And oddly enough Windows Live Messenger allowed me to log on fine (until it started telling me I needed to download the newer version to use it) so it appears something is blocking just the internet browser.

Unfortunately I don't have my laptop with me at the moment, it's at a friends in Cork but I'll be getting it in a few weeks so just wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be...

Oh, and no, I didn't make a recovery disc. Oops.

Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium

If you need any other info let me know. Any help appreciated :)

Hard to do anything without the laptop here, but lest try the simplest step first.

On your browser go to File(firefox) or Tools (IE) and see if the work offline option has been ticked...if so untick it and voila.
