I have recently moved to Galway and was wondering if any of you guys could recommend where I could buy computer hardware at a reasonable price, especially an external hard-drive..

If you're building your own PC, Maplins in Wellpark Retail Park supply cases, power-supplies, motherboards, etc. They are not the cheapest though.
For external hard drives, try Maplins, PC-World, Currys. Easons in town are also doing a Seagate 1TB external hard drive for 79.99 Euro.
You will save a lot buying online - Amazon.co.uk are doing a very good deal on ext hard drives - see the Bargain Alerts forum for more details.

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055985480 - thread for 1TB Western Digital from Amazon. price has changed i think, but it's still good value.

+1 for the places dilallio mentioned
