I've often seen stuff on eBay and thought I'll start a thread on weird items but none of the auctions were really that weird but this is....

Dell Inspiron 1100 Computer Sky Plus Box and 32 Condoms

I've been a football widow for too many years and I've had enough!!
I've had precious little attention from Rich when the football season is on because he's either in the boozer or in front of the Sky box. We're not working so we can't bring me out much but he did treat me to one great night out last April...he must have being saving bless him.
Last year Rich started watching games on the computer too in our bedroom and that was about all the action that was happening in there...or so I thought!
I checked his computer a few weeks ago and I'm still in shock, it's not football but foot fetishes!! He's been on a website, footypix.com looking at girls doing things with their feet!
So I'm selling the 6 year old Dell Inspiron and the Sky Plus box. The computer is a bit battered looking.
I'm selling the condoms too because he won't be needing them for a LONG TIME!!

I would say that's someone's idea of a joke. The pictures are all stock photos, not genuine ones taken by the seller. The price is also more than you'd get, and the postage is €200 for collection in person.

I agree its priced not to sell - I hope it has the desired result ;) - whatever that might be

Is it OK to sell a genuine fake on eBay?

To save creating a new thread I'll keep my comments on unusual/weird auctions as opposed to scam auctions here.

Ive seen lots of fake USB memory keys sold on eBay and ever so often the guy selling them realises he isn't going to shift them so sells them as, faulty, possibly faulty, untested or some other way indicating that they might not be exactly what they should be but still not saying they are fakes.

Today I spotted this 18 X Fake 64GB USB Flash Pens which is honest but then you have to ask is it OK to sell something honestly if someone could buy them and then sell them again on eBay dishonestly?

If you bought an item thinking it was genuine and it was a fake then if you can prove that its a fake you don't have to return it to the seller under eBay rules if you win a dispute to stop the seller selling the fake again.

So we have a strange stituation where afaik it would be OK to dishonestly sell these as "faulty" or "untested" but not honestly as what they actually are "fake".

It is against the rules to sell fakes/counterfeits/knock-offs on eBay, even if you do declare it as such up front. So I would say this auction is against the rules, especially since it's obviously designed to be bought by someone who will probably then sell them as genuine.

No - they cant sell fake items.

However, I cant see what is wrong with the listing other than that, as there is no actual brand listed. Hence it isnt a copyright violation. If it said fake sony or something, then its not allowed by ebay.

but there isnt anything inherently wrong with the listing imo

No brand name used - it says "fake" - but fake what?? What brand?

    Fake memory size, not brand.
