    Can't get over this,

Rang around a few garages, did a comparison between Michelin Energysavers.

    Kwikfit was 125 euros/tyre.
All other places were around 120 - 150 / tyre for the same thing, plus they didnt have much of a selection at all !!

Went online and had a look around found the exact same tyres for 84,40 / tyre on autobandermarkt.nl and thats including delivery, had a massive selection.

Had a look through some different brands, was able to compare reviews and went with a set of Fulda Carat Progressos instead (4.5 star ADAC Rated) had a set of the Winter versions on my old car and they were decent.

I'm just amazed that one place would have been charging 600 euros for a set of tyres and another place is charging 261.50 !! (with fitting, balancing etc it'll come to 298)

When I asked about the price difference in Tyres between Holland and Germany I just got an angry response "The tyres you get in Germany are crap, alot of them are fakes" or "The ones sold in Germany are a different type" one guy actually said "If you get tyres from Germany you might have an accident"

All I know is the company I purchased from is:
    Reputable in Germany
    TUV Approved Tyres
    ADAC Rated.

The Dutch amaze me sometimes with their ripoffs.

    rant over :o

    No boards.nl unfortunately.

I'd bet though that most of the Tyres sold in Ireland come from Germany, similar damn thing, big price difference between the North and down South.

I had a mate get tyres fitted before in Cork and they forgot to put the bloody wheel nuts back on, wheel almost fell off on the way home.

Came across the same recently. Was looking for a pair of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. Priced around here in Galway and best I could get was €200 each. Got them delivered from Camskill.co.uk for €96 each. :)

Got them fitted for €10 each at a local garage so saved myself nearly €200 on two tyres!!

A load of tyre places had a problem with fitting them, couldn't believe it. They're willing to walk away from €20 for about 20 minutes work. Didn't even want a receipt so it's all profit for them...

The http://www.autobandenmarkt.nl/ and the www.eiretyres.com are pratically identical.

But the .nl is around 3% cheaper for the tyres on my car:

    .NL

    Eiretyres

Do they have an 18% tax rate there?

    19% BTW (VAT)

Didn't realise Eiretyres were the same crowd !

Edit: me link above has a typo in it :)

Yea agreed, I usually buy my tyres with eiretyres but I always have trouble getting someone to fit them. Found a local dealer recently that charge I think 15 per tyre but the last time they didn't balance them properly and I would get a vibration when over 100kph. That vibration only went away when I got the wheels properly balanced by a garage
