well lads i think it's about time i get myself a shotgun. it will be my first and i'm not sure what to get. i'm on a shoestring budget so i was thinking of either getting a baikal 12g single barrel, cos i love single barrel shotguns i think they are lovely looking or a rem 870 express magnum which i also love. i really want both but i doubt i would be able to license both. so what would you buy? i'm going to be using it mostly for hunting. i thought the baikal would be nice and light compared to the rem although the rem is'nt that heavy. my head is wrecked trying to decide so your thoughts please. i'm open to other sugestions but i'm not really crazy about o/u's.
    Cheers
    Sam;)

had a single barrel baikal ,paid 60 pounds for it new .if you want one john lambert as a one that fired one box of shells ,i only had it in my hand sat . 50 euro will buy a nice s/h one .

in the long run you will be a better shot starting with a single barrel ,you will learn to pick the best place to use your single shot .

I used a single barrel baikal for some time when I was was young.
They are lovely and light but I found only one shot can be pain in the rear end when you have two fat pheasant sitting infront of you.
