Bonding contiga tape

    Another airtightness question...

I have contiga tape all around the edges of my ceilings to bond osb boards to the blockwork. The suppliers say to use gypsum based plaster under the tape then bed the tape in and put another coat of plaster on top then put on the sand and cement scratchcoat. My plasterer says not to do this as the bonding will swell from the water in the scratchcoat then will later shrink and crack the scratchcoat.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
