I just downloaded TextPad version 4.7 from Freeware.

When I put in code and go to check the spelling and such it says "the file has not been specified"....

Does anyone has a solution please?

Does it specify what file is not specified?

Sounds like there isn't a dictionary specified.

If you are still having problems try Notepad++ it supports syntax highlighting for a good few languages. It is very similar but 100% free.
