Hillwalking Galway

Hey guys. Would love to get involved with a hillwalking/mountaineering club in the Galway area. Just wondering if anyone is a member of a club or could recommend one? Also what kind of gear would I need to begin with?Have never hiked before so don't have any idea as to what i would need. Thanks a mill :D

Posted on Galway board, got reccommended NUIG mountaineering club and also Galway Walking club if thats any help. Both seem good
