Anyone else doing the blitz tomorrow.

For those who dont know about the race its a 10km mountain run followed by 20km mountain bike. Last year the run was very hard and steep and i expect the same tomorrow.

Registration at 9-11 with the race starting at 11:30

Best of luck to everyone doing it

I heard after the event that the run was 13km and the cycle 27km.

It took me 3 hours 45 min roughly, i had only planned on it taking 2hour 35 as thats what it took me last year and as a result i ran out of water and didnt have any food with me leading to severe cramps.

Very well marshelled event tho on what was a very difficult course. The last rocky climb to the mast with about 9km left killed me.

Looking forward to next year already.

yeah i'd say a lot of people were caught out with not enough supplies. running out of water, sweeties can take a lot of the fun out of it. really enjoyed the race myself. am a total novice on the mtb. would recommend it to anyone next year though. having to mountain bike obviously puts a lot of people off. the tracks in ballyhoura are perfect for beginners. and the few technial bits thrown in were short enough to push to bike through
