    What was the reason?

For posting this or for the aborted landing?

I'd say that in both cases it was due to a lot of wind ;)

Other reasons but less likely, idiot crossing the runway with lawnmore, debris on the runway, avoiding an incurson, ATC / Pilot miscalculation, birds etc.

This is from 2006. What is your point and why did it take you 4 years to make it?

In the description on Youtube: "Aer Lingus aborted landing Dublin - Dubai flight 3 Dec 06 Cross winds of 65 mph we were diverted to Shannon".

    I think he means Dubai-Dublin.:)

    Seconded...
That winter of 2006 was one of the worst flying winters I've experienced!

Nobody is beating anyone up. Posting a video from 2006 about an aborted air landing with no text attached to explain why or what for is a a bit strange to say the least. If the OP can't add some more information or explanation as to what its all about,:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: its a bit silly.

I was landing in Dublin that day as well so the conditions you see in that video were something I experienced. The video doesnt show how bumpy it really was however.

We flew from Stansted to Dublin on Ryanair 737-800 and circled for around 40 minutes out over the Irish sea, you could see how rough the waves were which was unusual for the Irish sea. Anyway it was pretty bumpy while in holding pattern, finally got cleared for final and the wings were swaying really heavily and suddenly. Pilot aborted landing just before we touched down (as we passed by the aalsa) and went around. He came on the PA a few mins later to say that the weather was beyond what the aircraft was capable of landing in and that he didnt have enough fuel to stay circling in Dublin, we were to divert to shannon where weather was the same but the angle of runway was more favourable.

Landed in Shannon 30mins later without any real issues, was still bumpy but not as bad as Dublin. A very scary experience for all involved and hats off to the pilot (who was only a youngster) that landed it safely.

4 hour bus journey was no fun though :(

I was on a SouthWest Airlines flight recently from LAX to Las Vegas and my flight was cancelled and we were put on an earlier flight instead. Anyways when we came into to land we were coming in very low and with not much to land when the pilot gunned the engines and we started climbing again, he explained over the PA that we were coming in too heavy and he did a fly round and we landed safely as normal the 2nd time.

Would this be normal? and would it have something to do with how a practically half full flight went to totally full and thus weight differences? One fellow said it was fine but it freaked out some noobies to flying. I remember seeing that Aer Lingus Youtube video before so was not concerned.
