no offence but imho thats a load of balls
there are plenty of wetsuits on the market without gore-tex, but which are still top,top gear.
of the two u have linked to the mizuno one is a quality one, a couple of years old i think (hence the great price)but wud hold up well against most new gear.

proquip also do some great gear, as the previous post, check ebay for some bargains.
the 2006 european ryder cup team used the proquip silk touch range at the K club. as u know it pissed down quite a bit but it served them well.
it has not got gore-tex but u didn't see the RC team complaining.Likewise this years european tour team are also using the new proquip tourflex gear...again no goretex.
bide u time on ebay, u will grab a bargain.
get dn to a shop to check out sizes

Thanks heavy, I've no doubt he will get used to my style of posting, as I'm sure he'll also be able to decipher the bs merchants from the quality posters and those can't be arsed to use punctuation and those who do.

As it was the missus that ruined your gear, I'd suggest that you gather up her shoe collection and sell them on Adverts.ie. You will then be in a position to buy some galvin Green ;)

Seriously though, the Mizuno stuff is excellent. I tried the ProQuip and hated it, but that's more to do with personal preference as I also use my waterproofs for hiking and trekking.

If I sell the shoe collection I'd be able to purchase a set of five star Honma clubs:D instead

I do like the Mizuno stuff ( currently useMizuna clubs/bag/cap/gloves) so the rain gear would complete the collection some what:)

In saying that I was all set for the proquip hydratech suit! but your comment "tht you hated it" has kinda put me off. Any particular reasions why you hated it?

Just didn't feel right and was noisier than I expected. Then again I was comparing it to the Galvin Green suit which I ended up buying so was like comparing a Merc to a Trabant. It's a bit subjective so I wouldn't dismiss the proquip, as my selection criteria would probably be a lot different than most peoples!

BTW Sunice make some excellent rain gear and aren't too pricey.

Ahh now you had to go and add "sunice" to the mix:eek: they too have some great looking wet gear, now its just getting harder n harder to choose..... kinda like a kid in the candy store at the moment.

Good man! now thts a right little bargin there:D

Only thing is I went out and bought an Adidas ClimaCool Storm Full Zip Soft Shell Jacket

and TNF: m venture jacket its really light and very much water proof , only draw back it has a hood(which in turn could be usefull)

Might have to bring one back and order the Stuburt at tht price:eek:

Youre actually supposed to wash wet gear (at least goretex) just make sure you dont use conditioner etc.
A warm iron or tumble dry also helps.

I have the Silk Touch bottoms by Proquip and tbh they're not very good waterproof wise and have let in water in heavy rain a number of times. Not a patch on the Galvin Green top I have.

Re the Ryder Cup, while there is no Gore-Tex in the Proquip gear you buy off the shelves, who's to say they don't make them with Gore-Tex for the Ryder Cup team...it's not as if expense comes into it for them. I could be wrong though...
