    Hi
Stupid question here, but when do you know when to replace your wiper blades? Is the screeching noise when it rains caused by a dirty windscreen or mis-aligned blades??

Help!! The noise is driving me nuts....

The first thing I would do is run a damp cloth the length of the blade and see if helps. Dirt can build up on the blade over time causing the screatching too.

Also this may sound a bit obviouse but did you take a look at the condition the blades themselves? Usually the rubber will look worn and may have little tears on the edge that wipes the screen.

I usually replace them once a year.

I find when I take the car to get serviced they would usually let you know if they need replacing.

I change mine when I start to see some lines being left on the window by the blade. The curve of the line will follow the path of the blade.
They can get destroyed in winter if used on a frosted up windscreen, saw a few people this past winter sticking their wipers on whacky wiper mode to clear a frosted screen.
