    Hi

My laptop crashed and I had to fromat it. Now I want to re-load the music from my i-phone back to my iTunes library, how do I do that? What I want to avoid is syncing my phone and wiping everything off my phone.

    Thanks

    ChristyM

If you have iTunes running when you connect the iphone you'll be screwed it'll wipe it. However if you turn off all the iTunes services and don't launch iTunes you can access the hard drive in the iPhone and copy the music from it.
I've done this for a cousins iPod and can only assume it'll work the same for an iPhone.

I hope op doesnt mind me asking this question

im also having the same problem as op but i get error message with the ipod

"do you want to scan and fix IPO (G)

there might be a problem with some files on this device or disc. this can happen if you remove the device or disc before all files have been written"

then it gives me 2 options

    scan and fix

    or

    continue scanning

im afraid of doing scan and fix because im not sure what it may do. I dont want stuff deleted off my ipod

    any advice please

Just to note, this will only happen if you've told iTunes to automatically sync the device when connected. When you first connect the device to iTunes, it won't do this.
