    Guys,

Hoping someone can help out with this. A band I know are looking for an investor to back them. They're what is defined as "Label Ready" what this means is that they have the album recorded, they have a first video shot, they're currently playlisted on over 200 radio stations around the world.

They have a small but building fanbase & are starting to tour this coming September/October, (the reason they need a backer).

Their sound is very American (although they are Irish) & this is where they've received the best response so far. For this reason they are going to be touring North America.

    Video:

    Album:
    Amazon Link | iTunes Link

They're NOT looking for a manager or someone who fancies themselves as one. They already have one of those. They're looking for someone who will look on this as a business opportunity & treat it as such.

So the question is (apart from if there's anyone here interested), where to start looking for an investor ?

Good Stuff - looks interesting for the right person - music is a very tough game to crack.

Very tough. A typical investor isnt going to give you a dime for this I dont think. You would want a rich artist of some sort who understands the music business. The first thing I would ask is how am I gona make money out of this?. What events have you got booked, for how much and whats my percentage? Wheres my money going? Isnt it much harder to make anything out of this business now with piracy? What assets to I get for my money? Is the band a company? Do I own 50% of the band members? :D
And just playing devils advocate for a question you might receive, whats different about this thats gona make them famous and worlwide superstars? The music is nice and well produced, but theres no wow factor. Isnt there 2 dozens bands with the same sound as this over the last 2 decades?

If you could answers all of them well, I might be wrong and you could have a chance!

    Go for arts grants money.

I know Irish bands who got cash to tour Ireland never mind America.
You could be in with a shout.

Come to think of it didn't Enterprise Ireland or the Tourist board fly Crstal Swing to the US?

Peter Jones from Dragons Den UK invested in a band - might be worth researching to see

i think its a good effort but purely guessing id say this is going to be one of the toughest areas to succeed in

i dont have facts or figures to back it up but id say the % of these things that actually make it are miniscule

conventional investors are going to want fiqures to back it up or some sort of potential estimate on what they stand to achieve by investing in it inside a certain time frame

i would concentrate on people who can add an "expertise" instesd of just a cash injection if i were you

it wud really be suited to someone who has the xperience at taking these things to the next level and prefarably someone who has done it before in the music industry

even if he wasts a bigger slice thsn u want to give away (which he most certasinly will ) i would go with something like that

Check out Kickstarter it's getting very popular with bands and at worst is good exposure. You set an investment target and anyone who is interested can contribute.
