from checking out all the financial institutions online , it seems anglo pay the highest interest on the largest deposits , my question is this , are anglo as safe as any other bank at the moment i.e BOI , AIB etc

Yes, Anglo are as safe as the rest of them. The question you need to ask yourself is whether the actual currency is safe.

In my opinion the real question is one of ethics. I would not support a bank which acted so unbelievably rotten over the last few years. Sean Fitz should be jailed like the crook he is.

in that sense , even sticking a few quid somewhere like rabbo direct may not be safe as houses

    Fraud

Morally fraudulant and legally fraudulant are not the same thing. he exploited loopholes in the system. Everyone does the same albeit to a lesser degree. In my opinion there's a very slim chance of him ever being brought to court over anything, unless it's a kangaroo court of public opinion

Senior management have been cleared out and the bank is now nationalized. It's the safest bank in Ireland.

Why your even using banks after what happened this country is beyond me. You can't bitch and moan if you keep giving the banks a loan of your hard earned currency.

I asked what fraud occured in Anglo since in my opinion I do not see where the fraud was so I was asking the poster what the fraud was and was hoping the poster would explain to me why they think fraud occured - I just presumed the purpose of a forum was where people can share ideas and discuss them and in this case I was hoping someone would explain to me why they believe Anglo was part of a fraud - valid question

we'll leave that to the Gardai and DPP to determine. You seem to have some sort of superiority complex and I cannot see any evidence of why you should feel superior to the other posters on this forum. I'd prefer if you'd leave.

I dont have any form of superiority complex at all I just find it funny how a lot of people claim fraud occured and when you ask them they cant explain it but if someone asked me all I would say is - Anglo aggressively expanded its loan books in hindsight with too much exposure to take market share from the other established banks and in the process bad decisions were made.....thats all I am saying and thats why I would like someone who advocates that fraud occured to give me their reasons for thinking that - the only reason you want me to leave is cause im not a typical Irish person here agreeing with everything everyone says, sorry about that but this is finance

The behaviour of Anglo's management was fraudulent (whether they can be convicted of fraud under miserable Irish legislation is another point.) I prefer to not limit my opinion of corporations on whether the legislation of this country is good enough to stop these fraudsters from behaving in such a way.

Unreported loans to directors, unreported loans to friends to prop up the share price, unreported loans received to prop up the balance sheet. I don't care where you are from Mr UpAgainToday, this behaviour is simply unacceptable, just as it is unacceptable for serial criminals to be walking the streets as free men.
