I'm all for some new drama from Alan Ball..

.. but if it's anything like 'True Blood', the pilot will be a pile of sh*te!

Alan Ball? HBO? Woo hoo... though Basquille is definitely right about the pilot... and possibly the first few episodes after that :).

This is great news. Just making my way through Six Feet Under at the moment and its amazing.

True Blood is a fun show but its not in the same league as SFU which really looks like Balls labour of love. Its like no other show I have ever watched and talks about life/death openly in a way I have never seen any other TV show do before. It is often deeply moving and profound while somehow never sounding preachy. The subject matter is unashamedly dark at times but its so wonderful to see a show tackle and talk about these things.

Agreed.. it's really amazing, plus has the best closing scene of any series I've ever seen. And I've seen more than I'd care to mention!
