    Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but i couldn't think where to put it.

I don't qualify for JSA (surprisingly even though I am under 25 my parents can't hand me money) or JSB but I am unemployed.

Technically I have been unemployed for over a year.

Is there any way that I can qualify for the training allowance?

Some one mentioned signing credits to me, is that what I need to do?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense but this whole system is a bit confusing!

Why don't you qualify for JSA? Have you applied?

your post doesnt make sense if you havent worked then fair enough with the JSB but you should be entitled to JSA unless your parents are refusing to get means tested and in that case then they have to fund you if you cant get a job

regarding fas you need to be signing on to qualify if you just want to do a college course you may qualify for a maintenance grant again its means tested
to do a vetos or btea course you need to be signing on
dont know why your not doing so

As edellc says, you need to be signing on, either for welfare payment or credits, to qualify for a FAS course. However, if you do not receive any social welfare payment, you will not get the training allowance. Also you will not be able to continue signing on for credits once you get onto the course. FAS will not pay your credits either.
