Stolen - Cube Town - Gents hybrid bicycle

    Folks,

Can you please take a look for this Cube Town gents hybrid cycle? It was stolen between Wednesday 21st and Saturday 24th July from my apartment block basement on Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge. It had been locked securely to the bicycle rack. It was missing the standard black "Scape"-branded saddle and saddle post (it's quick-release so I took it), so they swiped the chrome/aluminium post & black saddle of the Giant bike beside it.

It's got a front-wheel dynamo and no switch on the rear light, so the red-light on the back won't turn off (as far as I could figure out), kinda makes it stand out a bit in the daytime.

I had it for only four weeks before it was nicked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for your loss. Front wheel dynamos are rare enough so hopefully someone sees the bike about and remembers this post. It helps if your bike is somewhat distinct as I once recovered a stolen bike which was the only such bike in Dublin (a Sunn Cross MTB).

For what it's worth, you should never keep any kind of decent bike in the car-park of an apartment block. It's usually only a matter of time before the bike is stolen. There may be CCTV but that does nothing to prevent theft and replaying the recording in most cases just shows young males with facial features obscured by hood and/or baseball cap.

I've had quite a few friends who've had good bikes (not BSOs) stolen from such car parks because the management were arsey about bikes being brought into the apartments. I can understand concerns with regard to dirt and mud but they could show some flexibility. I know I wouldn't rent an apartment where I couldn't keep the bike safe.
