    Hi All,
had a hot water pipe burst on me the other day in my apt. water everywhere. The plumber came out and told me it was the olive in the compression fitting was british size and should have been Irish size. He fixed the leak. Wondering now if one was wrong size they are probably all the wrong size and the same thing could happen again? Any ideas what it would cost to check them all and replace?
    Ta.

As a plumber, there should be no need, the fitting that leaked(burst) was more than likely not compressed enough or ringed aka(overtightened). Best thing to do is just check them all and maybe add some bosswhite or ptfe where possible;)

Ps. was it a shower pipe that leaked? Just curious

So it didn't really 'burst' then? Normally the wrong ring can weep, usually wouldn't be a major leak.

it was pipe leading to bathroom, pipe came out of fitting - a sort of t-piece

burst might be the wrong word, i heard a pop/bang, the pipe had come out of the fitting altogether, water was flowing out everywhere.

Theres only certain fittings that always come in metric (british). I wouldn't worry about it happening elsewhere.
You're really suppose to change the nut and ring ,so the plumber that called out was right to tell you what he did.
