Spitting Mad

Yesterday, my friend who was visiting Ireland from the US was driving down the Canal just near Harrold Cross, and I was in the passenger seat.
    Her first time in Dublin.

It was warm so she rolled down her window while stopped in traffic. Next thing this boy racer car with about 10 people packed in, music blaring rolled down his window, leaned out and spit into my friends face. All of them then cracked up laughing.

It took me a minute to realise what happened but I jumped out of the car but the lights changed and they drove on. I am not naturally a violent person but grew up having to be able to defend myself so quite handy in a fight!

Am just so angry about people like this who have no respect for others and get away with this. I told a few friends who said it was a good thing you didn't catch up with them as they most likely would knife you or if I did give them a few punches the police would arrest me.

I imagine and rightly so a lot of people would be afraid to challenge punk asses like this (fear of being knifed, followed home etc)

I thought I would be over this today but still so angry about it. I would love to track them down with my baseball bat!

I know this is AH and people will probably rip the piss out of me but it is not exactly PI material. Is there ever a case for taking the law into your own hands? What would you have done if you did catch up with these morons? Is it best just to accept there will always be people like this?

No I won't rip the piss, I for one completely understand.

Your friends are right in a way - this kinda thing just instantly puts a huge rage over you and you could beat them senseless. This in the long term could have been costly for you like they said.

I guess the only thing I can say mate is take comfort in the fact that your not the only one this kinda S**T happens to.

Be the bigger person and try and let this pass - dont waste your day being pi*ssed off while some young lad goes around bein' a waster. Life is too short for that.

Pity you didn't catch his reg follow him and ring the guards.

Hopefully they'll all be in the news soon, after being squashed and killed by 40-foot lorry.

And no I won't be crying any tears for them.

IMO, you should have just taken down their number plate and reported them but its near impossible to think straight in that scenario.

I'd be RAGING too but they are type of lowlife that would report you to the Gardai as a revenge tactic for putting them in their place. You'd end up with the jail term/conviction for assault and you'd be wondering if it was worth it.

That's fcuking disgusting, Should be in the scumbag thread...

Where is the humour in spitting in someones face?
Little punks should be locked up somewhere, they obviously have no basic manners or social skills whatsoever.

OP if I was in your shoes I'd be dug out of him, the little scumbag.

Jesus Op, take the number plate, ring the guards, tell them they offered you heroin for sale, you said no and they spat in your friend's face. Even add in that one of them was messin with a knife in the back seat.

I would have had the guards on the phone in two minutes with that story.

That whole knife thing is just a load of crap.
What you had there was a kid with his first car, and some of his idiotic 17 year old friends. I very much doubt they would stab you.

If you were to confront them, they would immediately grass up the person who spat.
If they were not afraid of confrontation, they would not have driven off when you got out of the car.
Add to that the fact that most of these ***** who carry knives are afraid to use them.

Now i would ask that you refrain from calling my fellow human beings "Punk asses", Doctor. If you are in fact a Doctor at all. Feckin' apes.

Did they post ads on Gumtree pretending that you and your friend were providing sexual favours?

They'll be in court in no time if they did.

Unfortunately, if they didn't - can't see anything happening to those scumbags.

    There are two statements in your post that do correlate;

    And;

If you had said "hurley stick", I would have not questioned this, but generally people in this country only keep baseball bats for one reason, and it's not for playing baseball.

:pac: I can just imagine your friend just mindlessly day-dreaming in the traffic with spit on her face for a whole minute not saying anything. Either that you were just to pussy to get out but actually waited until the lights turned and then made a move.

Like the Guards would bother their arse to prosecute that.

Just drive a clapped out banger. That way, when you ram their chav wagon from behind, shunting into the canal, you're not that bothered about having damaged your paintwork....;)

Or.. if you're feeling really elaborate..

Take down his number plate, hire a private investigator to track down his home address and drive around there in the middle of the night and use a nail to scratch "Spit in my face will you? You C***!" on the bonnet of his car...

It is this type of occasion that it is good to have a few traveller friends. Follow them home, get the liscense number, then give boss a bell.
